Three weeks to go!
We are now only 3 weeks away from the 42nd Annual Sports Charity Scotland Fundraising Dinner 2025, taking place on Friday 7th February, at the stunning Prestonfield House.
Two days before Scotland take on Six Nations Champions Ireland, you are invited to attend this prestigious event and support Sports Charity Scotland in our mission to raise funds for highly deserving causes.
We are delighted to announce that the legendary Gavin Hastings will join us for a on stage Q&A session with former Scotland international Megan Gaffney and our fabulous long-term host Eilidh Barbour
We also have a fantastic speaker in the accomplished international rugby player, Tommy Bowe who represented his country 69 times and won two Six Nations titles. This included being an integral member of Ireland’s 2009 Grand Slam winning squad. He was also part of the British & Irish Lions squad that won the 2013 series tour in Australia.
On the evening you can expect an incredible four course dinner, and drinks provided by our long-term drinks’ partners Edinburgh Gin, Black Isle Brewery and Vino.
Alongside this our famous fundraising charity auction and raffle for the evening featuring one of the UK’s leading charity auctioneers the energetic and witty Alex Fleming – all for just £125 per person!
Full tables of 10 places or 12 places are now available, as well as half tables of 5 or 6. Seating is limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so please kindly let us know your preferred number of seats to secure your spot.
This year, we are honoured to be supporting two exceptional charities: School of Hard Knocks and Scottish Sports Futures. All funds raised on the night will go directly to these wonderful causes, providing support and significantly changing the lives of children and young people.
Please contact info@sportscharityscotland.co.uk to book your table.
Message of condolence to the Hastings family
Everyone at Sports Charity Scotland is deeply saddened to hear of the tragic loss of Jenny Hastings. Our thoughts are with Scott and the entire Hastings family during this incredibly difficult time.
Scott, a valued guest at our Sports Charity Scotland dinner, represented the Doddie Weir Foundation when we proudly donated funds in support of their incredible work.
Jenny was an advocate for mental health and wellbeing in Scotland, passionately promoting the positive impact that sport can have on mental health. Her efforts and legacy will continue to inspire many.
Nick Morrall, Chair of Sports Charity Scotland, said
“Our hearts go out to Scott and his family. His dedication to supporting others through difficult times has always been inspiring, and we extend our deepest sympathies as the family faces this heartbreaking loss.”
If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. You are not alone.

Celebrating Sammi Kinghorn’s success at the 2024 Paralympics
We are very proud to celebrate the phenomenal achievements of Sammi Kinghorn, a former speaker who joined us at last year’s Sports Charity Scotland Annual Dinner, who has returned from the 2024 Paralympic Games with an incredible five medals in five events – four silvers and a gold.
Kinghorn, the fastest British woman ever to race in a wheelchair, has competed in three Paralympics, but this summer marks a true breakthrough. She has walked away with a gold medal in the Women’s 100m T53, silver in the Women’s 1500m T54, silver in the Women’s 400m T53m, silver in the Women’s 800m and a silver in the Mixed 4x100m universal relay T53. Reflecting on her remarkable performance in the Stade de France, before she added her final silver medal, Sammi shared her excitement with BBC Scotland:
“It’s incredible, four from four, I definitely cannot complain about that. It’s just been incredible. Every time, coming out into that stadium, it’s spine-tingling and it’s amazing. I’m just so glad that I get the opportunity to do this. I knew it would be very difficult to be close to Debrunner. I just wanted to make sure that my silver was firmly my silver. I’m just really proud. This whole experience has been incredible.”

At last year’s dinner, Sammi gave us an inspiring speech about overcoming the life changing injuries she suffered in an accident on her father’s farm and talked about the importance of maintaining a positive mental attitude throughout her personal and sporting life.
Sammi’s relentless dedication, determination and passion for her sport continue to inspire us all. Her success on the world stage is not only a testament to her athleticism but also to her remarkable strength and resilience.
Thank you Sammi, for all that you have done and continue to do, for sport in Scotland.
A huge congratulations from Sports Charity Scotland to all the successful Scottish athletes who took part in the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
